My name is Heather and I am a wife of almost 15 years to Kevin and mom of Drew, who is 11 and Ethan, who is 9. I grew up in the Chicago area but now live, quite happily I might add, in the gorgeous state of Colorado. I love to read, cook, travel, spend time with my family, workout, hike, and laugh at my goofy Vizsla, Ella and I will probably write about some or all of these things at one point or another.
I used to be a runner and love running but I injured my back pretty badly about a year and a half ago. I still deal with pain and am continually looking for pain free ways to workout my body and stay healthy.
Another large part of my life is dealing with my oldest son's special needs. He has a diagnosis of mild cerebral palsy, but we aren't sure if that is, in fact, the actual issue. Regardless, we have been through a lot of therapies, doctor visits, school meetings, nights worrying, etc. with him but I wouldn't trade him for all the typical kids in the world. Having a child with special needs has its challenges but has also taught me so much about letting go of expectations and just rolling with things.
I am currently a stay at home mom and I also volunteer once a week in the oncology unit of our local Children's Hospital. While not the world's greatest writer, I enjoy occasionally putting my thoughts to
