The boys have been off track from school the past few weeks so a few weekends ago we headed up to the mountains to spend the weekend. We went back to Bachelor Gulch to a condo we had rented before.

This year, on the way up to our destination, we made a side trip to Leadville, a very cute historic mining town. Leadville is the highest incorporated city in the US and sits at 10,150 feet. The city is surrounded by what we here in CO refer to as 14'ners and it is gorgeous. The town is steeped in old west history. Doc Holliday had his last shootout here, Susan B. Anthony spoke at the opera house, Houdini performed there and many fortunes were made mining gold and silver. All around, a fun place to visit.
