Hooping It Up, Native American Song, and Me With a Change

Last week, we had a few things going on and I wanted to share some pictures.

In the community we live in, we are fortunate to have many recreation centers that offer classes for kids. They also have a bunch of classes specially geared toward kids with special needs. Recently, we signed Drew up to do a special needs basketball team.

In what is typical Drew fashion, the first day he had the class, he was nervous and was saying he did not want to go.  We got there and he met the teacher and some of the kids and was all smiles.  When I came back to get him, he was again all smiles and as I walked in the room, he was yelling across the court to me, "look at all my friends!"  Then as we got in the car he started telling me he hated it and was never going back again.  Such the way things go with him.

Incidentally, he did go back and he really seems to be enjoying it.  Last week, Kevin came home from work a bit early and we sat and watched Drew play. He is really good and made several baskets that night.

Also last week, Ethan's class did a presentation of Native American songs and games.  We teased him a bunch prior to the event about whether he was going to go native and wear a loin cloth or something but he kept his pants on and did a great job singing his songs.

Last Friday, after much debate and going back and forth in my head, I finally committed and made a change.

I went from this:

To this:

I have had shorter hair before but when my stylist made the first few cuts, I have to admit I was freaking out a bit.  It just takes so long to grow.  But now, after a few days of having this shorter cut, I am loving it and loving that it takes less time to blow dry.

Thanks everyone! I was a little worried I had mom hair but I am liking it more every day.

Love it! And love that Drew is doing great with basketball! And that Ethan kept his pants on. Although, come on the loin cloth would have added some quality spice to a school program!

First of all, with your beautiful eyes and perfect skin you could shave you hair off and still look fabulous. Secondly? I love the new cut. I think you look gorgeous!

Amy, thanks and I know, Ethan could have really spiced up the school program and been a hit with the ladies but he is just too shy. He is fun to tease though.

Ameena, I am not sure I could rock the bald look but I love you for thinking it possible! :)
