Yesterday, Drew had his first baseball game as a part of a baseball team for special needs kids. The organization that puts it together is a national organization that has chapters all over the U.S. Their philosophy is that every child should have the opportunity to play baseball.
Drew had an incredible time yesterday. He had a huge grin on his face the entire day and especially when he went up to bat for the first time and hit a home run! Each player has a buddy, who is a volunteer who helps the player know when to run and where to run. Drew's buddy was a high school girl named Ally who was really cute with him.
I have to say, I was really impressed with all the people involved with this. His coach, Big Al, coulnd't have been cooler and everyone there helping out was awesome. Drew will get to play every Saturday through the beginning of June.
