We have only had Ella a few months now and she is generally, very well behaved. One area she struggles in still is pulling horribly on the leash when we walk her. We are working hard on correcting that. We love to hike as a family and last weekend, we went on our first hike since adding Ella to our family. Kevin had the idea to get her a doggie backpack as a means of maybe slowing her down and giving her a job to do.
When we started out on our hike we were congratulating ourselves on the whole thing since it did appear to slow her down. About 20 minutes in, she had adjusted to this whole foreign object on her back thingy and returned to pulling and practically yanking Kevin's arm off. He did, however, find that pulling comes in handy on the uphill parts.
Next time, we are going to load her up with bigger water bottles and maybe a smallish boulder or two.
