We went to Petsmart this weekend and while browsing the aisles, we found a clever contraption that we had to have. It is a leash splitter. A Y shaped leash attachment that hooks to two dogs collars and then you clip one leash on. Gone are the days of dogs going different directions. Gone the days of leashes getting tangled up.
Of course we had to have it. We went home, hooked up the dogs and all went for a walk. Not too long into it hilarity ensued. Ella, at 1 1/2, is an energy ball and heads whichever way her nose dictates and at full force. Polka, a more sedate 11, is happy to just amble along. So, with the two hooked together, Ella was basically dragging poor Polka hither and thither. At one point even dragging her completely into a rose bush.
Being the compassionate pet owners we are, Kevin and I were laughing so hard tears were coming out.

Same thing happened with our two. Deliah is content to walk along and sight see since she was raised a city girl by her previous owners for the first 4 years before we adopted her in August 2008. Rocket .... we took him afield hiking at a young age and he's well tuned into his nose. He drug poor Delilah through every bush and around every tree he could find with that Y leash hook up. We don't use it anymore. Rocket is just too curious of a boy.
We had one of these splitters once but the Vs just got all tangled up with each other and we had to abandon it!
